Our Beautiful Work of Art

This is the very first digital scrapbook page I ever made. It was in 1999, long before I discovered all the on-line shops with their awesome papers and embellishments.

The journaling reads: These photos inspired me to make a charcoal drawing for my "Introduction to Drawing" class taught by Kristi Deitz at UWGB.

So the background is a photo of the actual drawing I made in class. It was HUGE!

For me, scrapbooking is more than just a hobby. It's the best way I know how to keep my mind off my troubles and focus my attention on all the blessings I have in my life.

I used work at a newspaper in the graphics department full-time plus sell digital scrapbook kits on the side. That came to a halt when I was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called a Chiari Malformation. I've had three surgeries so far that have only made my symptoms worse.

To try and make a long story short, I am no longer able to work and now use the limited time I'm able to spend on the computer to digital scrapbook and maintain my blog. I feel blessed that I am able to do this because it helps me focus on what is important in my life. Some days I think it's what helps me keep my sanity!
